I've never had much to do with woodpeckers until this year. After hand rearing and releasing over 8 youngsters at the rescue I work at I also found a wild nest! I watched the nest as much as I could and was totally fascinated watching the parents come back and forth to feed the young. I definitely have a new found love for woodpeckers!
